Dr. Cary Yurkiw, DC is a Chiropractor that does locum work for Chiropractors that take vacations, need to be away due to illness or injury. He also provides consulting services to clinics, doctors and therapists that want to grow and overcome obstacles using his 25 years of successful practice management experience. Increasingly, in the past year, practice owners have asked Dr. Yurkiw to do executive searches for them to find qualified people for their offices.
Dr. Cary graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario, Canada after attending the University of Winnipeg for his pre-med health sciences.
He has seen over 10,000 patients in his career and has performed over 165 weeks of locums for over 65 doctors and clinics. At the start of his career he developed a Locum Service which quickly grew into a specialized health care temp agency for Chiropractic, Medical, and the Dental professionals. He eventually sold Locum Services Inc. to one of his employees to focus on the development of his own practice.
Dr. Cary has learned and used a variety of techniques in Chiropractic including hands on and instrument adjusting to help people restore their posture, alignment and function. He continues to see a group of patients that have followed him from his Penticton and Kelowna practices.
Dr. Cary has a special interest to help athletes of any age. He was inspired to become a Chiropractor as a teenager when knee problems were holding him back from achieving his goals and dreams of playing hockey. A chiropractor and hockey coach inspired him to break through to a higher level by providing Chiropractic Care to heal his knees and coaching to motivate him to get conditioning to make him faster and stronger. Chiropractic Care, conditioning and coaching changed Dr. Yurkiw's life as a teenager.
Dr. Cary is an avid runner having completed over 15 half and full marathons. In 2018 he ran the Rock and Roll San Francisco and Los Angeles marathons. In 2019 he is registered for the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon which is run at night. He has his sights set on running a race in Europe in 2020.

Dr. Yurkiw has always made his family a priority. He has a beautiful wife Marcie, who is a homebuilder and realtor at Sage Executive Realty in Kelowna, and two children. His children are focused on academics and athletics in Kelowna. His daughter just started university at UBC Kelowna and is studying to become a dermatologist. His son is involved in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Last year in grade 10 he achieved a 99% final grade in grade 11 math and this year will be in concurrent studied at UBC to take some first year Engineering courses.
His daughter Jaeda has a high frequency hearing loss since birth and started www.hearinghelpers.ca in 2018 to help children and their families that have hearing loss to achieve their goals and dreams.
